Residents at Mareeba Aged Care have all of the advantages of care on hand – from 24-hour registered nursing, to personal care and allied health professionals who visit regularly.

Each day our residents experience comprehensive support from our highly trained staff with services such as medication management, clinical treatments, showering, dressing, hygiene, meals, rehabilitation and communication aids.

Health and wellbeing

Occupational therapy is also available to residents who need specialised care to promote and maintain mobility. Therapy includes twice weekly exercise groups, walking programs and individual exercise programs for specific conditions.

Recreational activities

Retaining independence through mental stimulation and enjoyable activities is another positive lifestyle aspect of Mareeba’s holistic care. Residents can take part in creative and engaging social activities that form part of daily life. Coordinated by our capable therapists, residents experience a range of regular events including bingo, balance class, movie afternoons, carpet bowls, cards and the celebration of special occasions and days. We also have two buses designated for resident outings and appointments.

Freshly prepared meals

Creating menus which contain variety, great flavours and nutritious food is something Mareeba is passionate about. Each day breakfast, lunch and dinner is cooked in our own kitchen by our qualified and dedicated kitchen staff. Morning and afternoon tea is served to residents and there is always extra fruit and tea and coffee on hand for residents and their guests.

Our Consultant Dietician ensures that well balanced, nourishing and tasty meals are offered, via a four-week rotating seasonal menu. Residents and their families are consulted regularly so that menu preferences are accounted for.

We have consistently achieved the highest rating from the NSW Food Safety Authority which indicates that our kitchen provides meals, cleaning regimes, standards and quality of the highest order comparable to the best restaurants in Australia.

Volunteer support

Friends of Mareeba is a vibrant and dedicated volunteer support group who provide companionship and community contact for our residents. This volunteer work is rewarding and provides an enjoyable team challenge. Friends of Mareeba undertake regular activities in support of the organisation. Community facilities

Residents and their guests are encouraged to make the most of everything Mareeba has to offer, from joining their family member over a meal, to easy access underground parking. Our handy coffee shop Bon Appetit provides delicious snacks and a variety of drinks and is conveniently located at the main entrance near the hairdressing salon.

Spacious dining and indoor lounge areas are situated throughout the facility and offer a variety of outlooks for residents and their guests. Outdoors there is a large BBQ deck off the first floor Extra Services Wing, a solarium, and a garden gazebo, ideal retreats for capturing the winter sun. The gardens have been designed specifically for the elderly and offer a sensory array of colours and aromas.
